In the world of alchemy, you've made huge leaps forward in your experiment to turn common metals in to gold, but now you must perfect the formula!
Aurum is a trick-taking game for 3 players or 2 teams of 2 with a twist... instead of playing cards into a trick that match, you can only play cards that don't match any other card played in the trick already (unless it's a Gold card)! In a team game, each of the players will have their own cards to play and will contribute to the tricks independently, however the total number of tricks won each round will be combined for comparison against their team trick bid.
The game is played over 3 rounds, with each round ending when either all players run out of cards or a player is unable to contribute to a trick. During a round, players will be competing for tricks by playing a card that doesn't match one already played in that trick, if they play the highest number or a gold card, they win the trick and add it to their success pool, if they play the lowest card, they gain the matching gold card from the supply and start the next trick. The team with the most points each round wins a gold nugget and the team with the most gold nuggets after 3 rounds is the winner.
Can you play your cards right to perfect your formula for Gold?
